Wayland Support

Synergy does not support Wayland as the desktop system in any Linux flavor.

If you need to run Synergy in your Linux system, you must first find out if you are using Wayland or x11. To check, you can run the following command:

loginctl show-session $(awk '/tty/ {print $1}' <(loginctl)) -p Type | awk -F= '{print $2}'

This will return if you are using type=wayland or type=x11.

If x11, you can install Synergy. If Wayland, you can still configure your Linux system to use a different x11 desktop environment and then install Synergy.
