Starting on Synergy 1.12, the pem certificate file path can now be a custom location, not only the default App Data Folder path.
There is a current limitation when you install Synergy 1.12 when your Windows user name has a space in it, for example:
If your name is John Doe, you will probably get an error like this:
synergyc.exe: unrecognized option Doe\AppData\Local\Synergy/SSL/Synergy.pem'
Try synergyc.exe --help' for more information.
[2020-10-28T17:51:07] ERROR: failed to launch, error: process immediately stopped
This also applies if you move your pem file to any folder with a space in it like:
synergys.exe: unrecognized option `Doe/Synergy.pem'
Try `synergys.exe --help' for more information.
[2020-11-11T08:02:35] ERROR: failed to launch, error: process immediately stopped
If that is the case, you have two ways of resolving it.
Go to Synergy Settings and put the certificate path between quotes:
Example: "C:/John Doe/Synergy.pem"
Note, make sure to put the quote at the beginning and the end.
Save the pem file to a path that doesn't have a space in it:
When finish making the changes for either option, please click Ok and Apply in the main window, the error will now go away.
