Written for Synergy 3 (v3.7.2) and Synergy 1 (v1.21.4), checked 3 October 2026.
Synergy 1 and Synergy 3 run on Windows, macOS and Linux computers, and share one keyboard and mouse between them. They don't run on iOS, iPadOS, Android or ChromeOS. For the operating systems and versions we support, see: Operating system and hardware requirements
Operating systems (OS), such as iOS, iPadOS, Android, and ChromeOS are commonly referred to as walled gardens or sandboxes. These OS protect themselves by enclosing running apps in a special area so that they are heavily restricted. Synergy 1 and Synergy 3 interact with the OS on a low level, to capture and emulate keystrokes (when you press a key on your keyboard) and mouse events (clicks and movements). This is also the reason why Synergy 1 and Synergy 3 are not available on the macOS App Store; apps downloaded from the macOS App Store can only run in a special sandboxed environment, and must pass strict rules which involve not interacting with the OS on a low level.
To support iOS, iPadOS, Android, or ChromeOS, we either need those OS to enable support for apps like Synergy 1 and Synergy 3, or we need to develop special hardware. We'd like to support them, but we can't give a timeline.
