Written for Synergy 3 (v3.7.2) and Synergy 1 (v1.21.4), checked 3 October 2026.
Operating system: Windows, macOS, and Linux
Using Synergy 1? Send us the log file from each of your computers instead, since Synergy 1 has no diagnostic report. The steps are in the Synergy 1 section below.
Synergy 3
When you contact our support team about a problem with Synergy 3, please send a diagnostic report from each of your computers. You can contact us here: Contact Synergy Support
The diagnostic report is a .zip file containing logs and details about how the app is running on that computer, which lets our technical support team see what is going wrong.
To create the diagnostic report:
- Open Synergy 3.
- In the sidebar, under Advanced, click Troubleshooting.
- Click Run diagnostic tool.
- When it finishes, click Show file location to open the folder with the .zip file.
- Repeat on each computer.
If you can't get to that screen, open the Help menu and choose Run Diagnostic Tool instead. The Help menu is at the top of the window on Windows and Linux. On macOS it's in the menu bar at the top of your screen while Synergy 3 is in focus.
The diagnostic tool saves the .zip file in your Documents folder, named synergy-diagnostic- followed by the computer's name and a number, for example:
- Windows:
C:\Users\username\Documents\synergy-diagnostic-MYPC-1759500000.zip - macOS:
/Users/username/Documents/synergy-diagnostic-MyMac-1759500000.zip - Linux:
/home/username/Documents/synergy-diagnostic-mypc-1759500000.zip
The report includes personal information such as IP addresses, computer names and file paths, so only share it with our support team. Please attach the .zip file from each computer to your support ticket.
Synergy 1
Synergy 1 has no diagnostic report, so please turn on Log to file on each of your computers and attach each log file to your support ticket. For the steps, see: Saving the Synergy 1 log to file
