Enter or change your serial key in Synergy 3

Enter your serial key on every computer in your setup. Only the primary computer uses an activation, but each computer needs the key, and Synergy 3 can send it to your other computers for you with Update all computers.

To start, click License in the left sidebar of Synergy 3. The Apply new license page opens, with two ways to update.

Log in to your account

  1. Click Update using Synergy account.
  2. Type your Email and Password.
  3. Click Update all computers, or Update this computer to change only this one.

Synergy 3 fetches the serial key from your account for you, an offline serial key included. An offline key then activates on the primary computer with an activation code and a response code. For the steps, see: How license activation works in Synergy 1 and Synergy 3

Paste your serial key

  1. Copy your serial key from your account page.
  2. In Synergy 3, click Update serial key manually.
  3. Paste your serial key.
  4. Click Update all computers, or Update this computer.

Update all computers reaches the computers Synergy 3 is connected to at the time. If a computer was offline, repeat the steps on it.

After an upgrade or a trial

Apply your new serial key with either method above: logging in fetches it for you. An upgrade, or a Synergy Business trial turning into a paid subscription, puts a new serial key on your account, and Synergy 3 doesn't pick it up on its own. A trial key stops working when the trial ends.

If Synergy 3 says your license is invalid

Click Apply new license and enter the serial key from your account page. Synergy 3 shows Your license is invalid. when the key it has stored no longer works, for example a key from an older license.

Which licenses work in Synergy 3

Synergy 3 accepts Synergy 3 Lite, Synergy 3 Plus, Synergy 3 Max and Synergy Business licenses.

Entering your key or logging in doesn't use an activation by itself; your license activates when the primary computer next starts sharing. For how activation works, see: How license activation works in Synergy 1 and Synergy 3
