Go to Local settings (under Advanced). These settings apply only to the computer you change them on.
- Run on the login screen: lets you use your shared keyboard and mouse on this computer's login screen, before anyone signs in. Available on Windows and macOS; on Linux it's greyed out. On macOS, see also: Start Synergy 1 or Synergy 3 automatically at login
- Automatically restart connection (on by default): saved, but not used by Synergy 3 (v3.7.2) yet, so changing it has no effect.
- Receive beta updates: offers you beta versions as well as stable ones. When one is ready, Update available appears at the bottom of the settings list.
- Appearance: System follows your computer's light or dark setting; Light and Dark fix it.
- Config file location: where this computer keeps its Synergy 3 settings. Useful when our support team asks for it.
Reset your settings
Resetting fixes settings that have got into a bad state. It permanently deletes your settings and can't be undone; your license stays on your account, but you may need to enter it again.
- In Local settings, next to Reset all settings to default, click Reset settings.
- Click Reset this computer to reset only this one, or Reset all computers to reset every computer connected to it.
Synergy 3 restarts by itself afterwards. If you can't open the settings at all, use Reset settings in the diagnostic tool instead (Help > Run Diagnostic Tool).
If you see Could not enable run on login screen., Synergy 3 couldn't get the permission it needs. Try again, and on macOS approve the prompt that appears.
