Stop the cursor switching by accident
- Switch after delay: the cursor has to rest against the edge of the screen for this many milliseconds before it moves to the next computer. 0 (the default) switches straight away. Try 250 to 500 if you keep switching by accident.
- Enable switch with double tap: the cursor only switches if you tap the edge twice. When it's on, Switch when double tap within sets how close together the two taps must be, in milliseconds.
These two settings are shared with all your computers. Click outside a box to save the number you typed.
Other settings
- Run as system to allow UAC interaction (Windows only, on by default): lets you click Windows UAC prompts with your shared mouse. For details, see: How to make Synergy work with UAC prompts
- Take foreground window (more reliable input capture) (on by default, this computer only, Windows only): despite its name, while this switch is on Synergy 3 leaves the current window in the foreground when you move to another computer, so a full-screen game stays open. Turning it off makes Synergy 3 take the foreground window, which captures the keyboard and mouse more reliably but can minimize full-screen games. More: My game is minimized when I leave the screen
- Enable meta key (not the start or command key): adds Meta to the modifier keys you can remap in Computer preferences. This is the separate Meta key found on some Linux setups, not the Windows or Command key.
- Core server/client port: the port keyboard and mouse sharing uses (24800 by default). Change it only if another app needs that port, and set the same port on every computer. More about ports: What ports does Synergy use?
