Each computer has its own preferences. To open them, click the three-dot menu on the computer (on Screen layout or Manage computers) and choose Computer preferences. Make your change, then click Save. The name and dead corners also save when you click out of the box.
Name
Type a new name for the computer. Every computer needs a different name; if the name is taken you'll see A computer with this name already exists.
Modifier keys
Choose what each modifier key (Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Super) does on this computer. For example, set Ctrl to Super and Super to Ctrl so Ctrl+C copies on a Mac. Each key must map to a different key; otherwise you'll see The right column has duplicates and can't save.
The change applies when this computer is being controlled from another one. Meta appears in the list only when Enable meta key (not the start or command key) is on in Miscellaneous. More examples: Swap or remap modifier keys (Ctrl, Command, Alt Gr) in Synergy 1 and Synergy 3
Dead corners
Enter a size in pixels in any corner to stop the cursor from switching to another computer when it's in that corner of this computer's screen. This helps when you use a corner for something else, such as a hot corner or the Start menu. Leave a box empty to switch from that corner as normal.
Miscellaneous
- Invert scroll direction when controlled: reverses scrolling on this computer while you control it from the primary computer.
- Use the primary computer's keyboard layout: types with the primary computer's keyboard language on this computer. More detail: International keyboards and keyboard language sync in Synergy 1 and Synergy 3
- Stop this computer from sleeping: keeps this computer awake while Synergy 3 is running.
- Enable half-duplex caps lock key, Enable half-duplex num lock key, Enable half-duplex scroll lock key: turn on if that lock key gets stuck or toggles twice on this computer, which happens with some keyboards that send only one signal per press.
- Enable XTest workaround for Xinerama: for Linux computers using an X11 multi-monitor (Xinerama) setup where the cursor ends up in the wrong place. Leave it off otherwise.
