If your computer has more than one network connection (Wi-Fi and Ethernet, or a VPN), you can tell Synergy 3 which one to use. Go to Local networking (under Advanced).
Network interface
Choose the connection your other computers are on. Auto, the default, lets Synergy 3 pick. Pick a specific interface when Synergy 3 keeps choosing a VPN or a network your other computers can't reach. This setting applies only to this computer.
A red mark beside the list means the interface you chose earlier is no longer on this computer (for example, a disconnected adapter). Choose another one, or Auto.
Keep alive
Keep alive (on by default) checks the connection at a regular interval so a dropped connection is noticed and recovered. Keep alive interval sets how often, in milliseconds (5000 by default). Leave both as they are unless our support team asks you to change them.
Wired connections are the most reliable. For lag on Wi-Fi, see: What to do when the mouse cursor lags?
