Wayland support in Synergy is still experimental, and hotkeys are one of the parts that isn't finished yet. This includes the lock cursor hotkey and hotkeys that switch between computers.
Whether hotkeys work when the Synergy server runs on Wayland depends on your Linux distro, its version, and your desktop environment. Each distro packages the Linux libraries Synergy relies on differently, and Wayland support for hotkeys is still arriving in those libraries. So hotkeys may not work on your computer yet, even when the rest of Synergy does.
What you can do
- If you rely on hotkeys, switch the server computer to Xorg, where hotkeys work: Switch back to Xorg on Ubuntu
- Keep your Linux distro and Synergy up to date. Hotkey support on Wayland is expected to improve as both catch up.
