Dead corners (for this computer)
Tick Top-left, Top-right, Bottom-left or Bottom-right to stop the cursor switching computers in that corner of the server's screen. This keeps corners such as the Windows Start button or macOS hot corners usable when another computer sits beside them. Corner size sets how big each corner is, in pixels. Dead corners for a client are set on that computer's own settings: double-click it on the Computers tab.

| Disable lock to computer (scroll lock key) | Turns off locking the cursor to one computer, including any cursor-lock hotkey. | Off |
| Enable lock to computer at startup | Starts with the cursor already locked to the server. | Off |

How the cursor lock works: How to lock the cursor to a computer?
Network
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Check clients every | The server checks each client at this interval, in milliseconds, and retries the connection when a client stops responding. Useful if clients disconnect without the server noticing, for example after sleep. | Off; 5000 ms when ticked |
| Network protocol | Synergy or Barrier. Keep Synergy unless your other computers run Barrier or Input Leap. A Synergy 1 client follows whichever protocol its server uses. | Synergy |
Switching
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Switch after waiting | The cursor only moves to another computer after resting on the screen edge for this long, in milliseconds. Stops accidental switches when you work near an edge. | Off; 250 ms when ticked |
| Switch on double tap within | The cursor only moves to another computer if you push against the edge twice within this time, in milliseconds. | Off; 250 ms when ticked |
If some of these options are greyed out, an administrator has locked them. For administrators: Lock down Synergy settings so users cannot change them
